Samuel has really gotten into “pretend play” over the past few months, which has been really fun to see develop. His pretend play usually revolves around food: making us ice cream cones, delivering milk to us, etc. The other day he had a whole scene going involving the grocery store (which he loves in real life). He first found some bags to take to the store, then he found his keys, got on his car, and drove to the store. He then pretended to shop for items, put them in his bag, and drive them back home. Then he would take them out of the bag, one by one, and show them to me. It was really cute to watch and hilarious to hear him narrate. I feel like I got a glimpse of what I must do and say at the grocery store – I don’t know where else he would have gotten some of the phrases he said. 🙂
